An international collaborative team has developed the Digital Media Manifesto (DMM) in the months of July to September 2003. The DMM contains a proposal of a new not-for-profit organisation called Digital Media Project (DMP) to execute the Seven Major Actions identified by the DMM.

Purpose of this document is to plan the steps to be made until the first General Assembly that is assumed to be held on 2004/01/21-23 at a venue TBD.

Finalise Purpose, Organisation and Work plan (1)

This document contains the major features of DMP. Because of its conciseness, it is expected to become the ideal document to promote understanding of DMP and to recruit members.

Finalise Procedures of work (2)

This document is a proposal for the rules that will govern the development of Technical Specifications, Recommended Practices and Recommended Actions (collectively called Approved Documents)

Finalise Statutes (3)

Statutes are the basic DMP charter. Although the proposes statutes are drawn from similar international forums, it is important to agree on and effect the changes required by the specific nature of the DMP.

Open call for  members

A site for prospective members to register their intention to join will be opened. Those wishing to join will have available (1) as a summary of DMP features including work plan, (2) as the rules governing development of ADs and (3) as the basic charter

Set membership fees

The level of membership fees will be set by prospective members
      Call for participation in DMP incorporation A minimum of 3 members is required for incorporation. Participants may agree to serve as Directors

The precise form of the Organisation (mostly Development Committees) and the work items assigned to each DC will be decided by actual members
